¹¹ like an eagle that stirs up its nest
    and hovers over its young,^(A)
that spreads its wings to catch them
    and carries them aloft.^(B)

²⁷ Does the eagle soar at your command
    and build its nest on high?^(A)
28 It dwells on a cliff and stays there at night;
    a rocky crag^(B) is its stronghold.
²⁹ From there it looks for food;^(C)
    its eyes detect it from afar.
³⁰ Its young ones feast on blood,
    and where the slain are, there it is.”^(D)

¹⁶ The terror you inspire
    and the pride^(A) of your heart have deceived you,
you who live in the clefts of the rocks,^(B)
    who occupy the heights of the hill.
Though you build your nest^(C) as high as the eagle’s,
    from there I will bring you down,”
declares the Lord.
